Do I Need a Business Turnaround? (Quiz)

This simple quiz will tell you:

The World's Shortest Business Turnaround Quiz

When you get up every morning are you making decisions based on:

A.  What you enjoy most and what is best for the long term interest of you, your family, and your company?  Or ...

B.  What you have to do immediately to solve your cash flow crisis?

If you answered B, then chances are you are in desperate need of a turnaround.

The problem is, most businesses stay in a perpetual state of stress and desperation.  It's just like a job where you live paycheck to paycheck, but only worse:  you work longer hours for less pay.

That's where a turnaround comes in.

Real lasting business growth doesn't happen until you pull yourself out of that desperate "cash strapped" state.

See, if you're constantly putting out cash flow fires, you simply don't have enough time to make lasting changes in your business.  It's simple human dynamics.

So, an intelligent turnaround quickly takes you out of that state.  And puts you in a state where long term growth is possible.

Who hasn't been at B? The majority of entreprenuers that I have met and built relationships with all have gone through or are still in the state of B.

Honestly though...These are the individuals that I Love dealing with. The Never say Die or Whatever it Takes mentality...The people with Passion to accomplish there Dreams and Goals.
One of my true life long personal/business friends has been struggling for 10 years in the extremely gratifying Fundraising Industry.
Everytime we speak it is the same scenario..."Man if we can make it through the summer, we will have a good fall season".

The challenge is that this will always be the case. He (Jerry) only uses a computer for scheduling and accounting. Jerry will more than likely never run across your path Mark.
He can through me.

How about Manny and Louis at the local restaurant I met yesterday. The 2 young brothers just took over a failing business. I found out that they are dedicated, focused and extremely driven, yet so afraid, because they are true entreprenuers. They worked there way up from dishwashers for other companies to owning there own shop. To me this is a Success story already.

Here in lies one of my challenges with MeetLynchburg.com. I am going to scratch there back to help them advertise on my site at no cost, in hopes that they will prosper and pass it on.
Once again Manny and Louis are more than likely never going to know who Mark Joyner is or how to turn there business around in 7 days or even 6mo. unless myself or someone in my community shares with them your findings. At this time in my Life, I just do not have the knowledge/skill set to empower them with what they need to have long term success in there business. I can only give them a short term Boost and a jolt of my passion for life.

I am starting my own business performing my lifelong dream of being a musician. I play guitar, sing and perform all types of music. I'm off to a good start and utilizing Simpleology is one of the tools that is helping me.

I work a full time 40 hour a week job, am a single mother and on my time off I have 'gigs' where I perform for senior centers, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I would like to in the near future work my regular job only part time and do the performing the rest of the time. My utimate dream would be to quit my full time position and perform full time and when I am too busy get others to perform for me. Right now I am calling my business "Midge's Music"

Why do I deserve your Business Turnaround? Because it is still new enough to adapt your great ideas. Even though I have some knowledge more is always better. I am 47, have worked all my life and am NOW pursing my real dream of performing. You see, it's not just performing that I do, I also want to help others, brighten their day and mannnn I need more time and energy to do this.

Sincerely,

Midge

Here's my pitch.
I am a lifelong entrepreneur. Although I have worked for large corporations in the past. I have always been labelled as entrepreneurial. It must be in my blood.

I am now the president of a small company of about 15 people. I was brought in to help bring the business "to the next level." My ability and experience was right for this company. However, I totally underestimated the condition of the company and my ability to overcome the inadequacies.

I used to get up in the morning believing I could change the company. Now I find myself much less enthusastic than I should be. I have an excellent product line, an excellent vision (as told to me by my customers) but have a problem getting the whole organization to truly see that vision.

My objective is to build something for the rest of the folks here. People have families. They want to bring their kids through college. The single ones want to make enough money to create move forward in their lives. So, this is NOT all about ME.

My success will be to see everyone else happy in what they do (they are not happy - yet) and feel like the really want to come to work. Some do, some, I am sure, do not. I have a test. I ask folks what they would do if they won the lottery. You will find very few, if any, say they would continue to do what they do (perhaps on a bigger scale) if they won. It is amazing.

So, my dream is to create an excellent company which will benefit the lives of those who make it work.

I believe I am close, and that an intensive course like this will sort of change my frequency, attract the right mental aura and actually make change not only for me, but for the folks around me.

Mark ,I don't deserve to win ,I felt because as a young adult I was foolish ,foolishness is bound in the heart of a child(smile).
Mark ,second chances do come around and here you are not by chance either .I deserve to win because I have a wealth of creativness inside for Special Needs Children with Austism as well as those who need and uplift at lunch and other times ,Children youth ,adults as well .
I need to reverse the dishonest debts I've made to an A1 credit score and know that I'll never have to rob Peter to pay Paul,
Mark I'll be able to share my experinces to help others not to walk a mile in my past foolish footsteps .
Life evolves each day with new beginnings,Go for it. (quote written by Paulette 6-22-07)

I would very much appreciate your considering my application for the free Business Turnaround.

After being in a serious accident 10 years ago, I also became seriously ill. After years of misdiagnosis and severe reactions to almost every medication they tried, I decided to take control of my own health.

After successfully managing my own health (see http://www.katking.com/Wisdom/WhoKatKing.htm), I decided to share with the world my experiences as well as research I have done for over 25 years. For the last 6 years I have provided over 2,000 pages of FREE information for anyone to use on-line. I have thousands of hits per month, and very respected websites link to my site.

For 6 years I have freely given thousands of dollars and thousands of hours to help others. Now it is my turn. I would like to find a way to make a living for my efforts. I taught myself everything from typing, to computer skills, the internet and web development. For some reason, I just cannot seem to grasp the marketing end of it.

I believe that with a mentor by my side, I can turn this around to being a win-win situation for all.

Thank you for your consideration.

Mark,
I wrote to you in another comment about my dreams for business, so in this one I want to speak of my current job.
At the beginning of this month I took a job as manager of a bed and breakfast to help pay the bills. Having wanted to my own B&B, I thought it to be a good experience. Now that I am "up in it" so to speak, I find that the owner is running it in a manner that keeps the place from prospering to it's total potential. The owner is a lovely lady and considers me a friend and will more than likely never meet or even hear of you and your work, except through me. With her over-loaded lifestyle any info shared will more than likely not stick past a minute. I, however want to know how to convey a work smarter with greater profits, not harder with more stress, message to her. The place is a sleeping giant and has the potential to bring in more money than ever imagined by the owner.
I want to do a business turnaround with this beautiful place in the mountains of southern NM. while owner is open for all my suggestions and we have incorperated some at this point, she can be a bit scatter brained and is somewhat tight with the spending of money on marketing.
She says she is ready and I want to jump at the opportunity to turn a business around. HELP, HELP, HELP.
I have introduced the idea of making it a teaching B&B, so the income is not just based on people vacationing. While I answered B, I have a love of the business and an interest in what the future brings for it as she is willing to sell it to me, so I am determined to reach out for the necessary tools to turn it around and meke it mine. As I stated in my other comment, it would be my esteemed honor to have you work with me.

Hi,

I am an art and English teacher of 25 years experience, who was suddenly and randomly blessed with a phenomenal idea for a new product. This product can be sold to 3 differing demographic niches, and is both healthy and fun.

I have been working for 2 years to bring this closer to fruition, and have been able to use the internet and cellphones for access to information and businesses that I thought might be able to assist me on my path. However, while I have learned tons and talked to all kinds of people: some who would like to help and others who won't; I still am a long way from where I would like to be. I need sources and help! Who better to give it than you?

I had never before had the compulsion to create a product nor a business, but I have an intense desire to do so now. Perhaps because I have spent 25 years educating, promoting, and assisting others, I now know that I am at a place where I need and want to help myself.

I believe that I am closer to success than I can imagine, and I believe that your opportunity is there for this reason. The universe is serendipitous if we are open to the possibilities.

I am aiming for the "change-the-world" category of worthiness to your seven-day-turnaround program. My site, my baby, www.brainwavejourneys.com, is dedicated to helping people become aware of how their brainwaves work, what brainwaves are good for concentration, memory, relaxation, learning, etc., and how to reach those helpful brainwave states.
Can you imagine a day when we could turn some giant speakers on in the Middle East and help bring the terrorists to a state of peace and prosperity, kindness and love? I can imagine it. I don't know that we'll ever get there, but my passion is to bring as many people to a state of peace as possible. Ultimately, my site is about personal growth and development, using scientific research and technology to help us reach our highest potential, both individually and as a species.
Lofty? Yes. Unrealistic? Probably. Is world peace attainable? Who knows? But you have to start somewhere, and I have begun, using baby steps.
I have found in the past few months that I am easily distracted -- I keep getting off track trying to figure out a way to actually support myself before my retirement income dries up (I'm 52) while I'm working on my site (and other sites I own), page by page.
I could really use the outside perspective and knowledgable insight that you undoubtedly offer.
I humbly put myself, my talents and gifts and enthusiasm and energy, at your disposal to whip into shape, to educate and to motivate intelligently into profitability so that I can continue this journey.
Thanks for listening!

We are a semi-pro men's basketball team who thought we could use the internet to attract fans and sponsors to our games. We need sponsors and we need them fast if we are to survive for a second year. First of all, how about becoming our title sponsor or an investor into the organization. This request is not an attempt at humor. Secondly, your challenge is how do you teach us in 6 weeks to survive and succeed. I dare you to take this challenge because we need a financial infusion fast and if your claims are true, we would be an incredible test case for you and an unbelievable reference! Can you help us, please.

Hi, I'm not trying to be harsh or to be smart a***
If, I am I appologize. What I notice some of the names you choosen look like they already successful.
Some of people have sad or tragic stories has put themselves last and been giving with their hearts deserve a payback.
What they will learn they will give back to mankind.
Good if the people could vote.
It's your show you do what is best.
Highly Respectable You are always trying to create value's so people be less complex and be simpleology. Thank you

NOTE FROM MJ: Edward I picked a few 'experts' as extra additional members of the "seven" (notice there were actually 16 total) so that they could help teach the new group and so that we could also show that a turnaround is valid no matter what your level. It was most certainly not meant as a slight to those who are in more dire need. Indeed, we only want to help them more. When you see what happens on July 1 you'll be surprirsed by a few things.
