Profit from an Entrepreneur's Clever Revenge
By: Mark Joyner
My friend Matt Bacak had a seminar of his swiped by one of his students and now to get "revenge" he's giving away the entire seminar for a dollar. (Note: he's also automatically subscribing you to another service - it's quite clear but can be missed in your excitement to grab the goodies for a dollar - just cancel if you don't like it.)
Is this a marketing ploy?
Well sure - of course it is. But it's also one based in truth. Knowing Matt personally (he and his wife are genuinely sweet people) I can affirm he is indeed closing down his business to work for another company.
I also know that people "swiping" other people's intellectual property is an all-too-common occurrence these days. Heck, I've watched people swipe entire charts, passages, and genuinely unique concepts from my books and claim them as their own.
So yeah, it happens.
Matt could have allowed the event to make him bitter, but instead he decided to turn it into something profitable for him and others.
I first met Matt years ago at one of my seminars. After that he made a great success of himself in short order.
I took the above seminar he's giving away two years ago and it was excellent. The info wasn't new to me because I'd been doing what he taught for years, but to anyone who is new to e-publishing it is a fast method for learning how to do it - from the ground up.

Great use of the one-time-offer strategy... though a bit overboard doing it four times? Still - for $1, I bit.
Love the story. I had an idea of mine swiped. Actually, she went around town not giving me credit in public for creating the concept she is profiting off of, so I did the best thing ever -come her competition and offer a better packages to the end user. My event is more profitable and is welcomed back to all participating restaurants. Why get bitter, when you can be better and make more money.
sounds like a prety clever move to me.
Look, I'm not trying to be negative here, and I accept that the offer of everything for $1 is genuine, but I think that the fact that you're also signed up for a recurring $29.95 a month is just a little bit hidden away. It should be more up front.
Note from MJ: Hi Phil, yeah sometimes continuity programs are hidden away. In this case, I see it right there where you sign up - right next to where you enter your info. I'm not sure how much more up front he could have been in this case - do you have any suggestions? I'll make sure Matt sees your comment.
I caught a video of Matt Bacak about a week ago and I was hooked. It was actually his video that confirmed some of the thoughts running through my head. (Although I think it was the airplane that hooked me...)
Frankly I was secretly hoping something like this would come along!
With a donation to Habitat for Humanity and a low-risk subscription that is in plain site, why not?
Blue skies,
Val
fwiw, I canceled the subscription today by emailing support. received confirmation in a whole 2 minutes.
I bit. I took a quick look, so far, it looks good. I passed on all of the offers but couldn't resist sending a couple of bucks to New Orleans. New Orleans is open for tourism. The people and city could sure use all the tourist dollars it can attract. I had a great time down there last fall. It's going to take generations to get everything going and if everyone kicked in a couple of dollars it can't hurt.
Looks like some great info here... This guy is such a master of his craft... One offer after another. It took all my powers of reverse "Mind Control" just to resist the temptation. Even now I'm thinking I have possibly missed some more great content.
I think it's a great education.
Best wishes from me in the UK:-)
Hi there. I have read so many books and attended so many seminars that it is difficult sometimes to remember who taught me what. Now that I am starting to do my own, how do I make sure all these great teachers get proper credit? I don't want to be accused of being a swiper...
Yes, Intellectual property swap looks like the hype in today's e-publishing jungle and truely Why get bitter, when you can be better and make more money.
I believe Matt Bacak has taken the most positive decisions to heal his pain and point the simple way out for future victims. Cheers.
We took Matt's 5500 dollar course, and are glad we did...even if we now can get it for just 1$
Matt was very generous with his information and it is sad when those greedy minds have to steel the property of others to make a buck.
Isn't material protected under copyright law? Aren't there ways to stop this?
Although I took the course, I'll spend the extra one dollar to get hooked up again with Matt's knowledge and insights..
Thank you,
Helena
I think Matt got the last laugh in this case and good for him.
I also think this will send a strong message to others who may be thinking of passing someone else's property off as their own.
Bless his heart! It is hard not to act out of spite or be bitter. Matt will do just fine and be stronger and more successful for this experience.
The cookie jar was wide open, so I dropped a buck on my way out and took Matt's program, and frankly, it was like stealing... (don't get caught with your hand in the cookie jar & if you do, you can always come up with a good story)
He seems like a fair guy - just like mom. I noticed the recurring fee immediately, and lowered the shield on my helmet and charged forward. Pretty nice considering I just scarfed all his cookies (whose got whose cookies now?)

P.S. Bucks or Ideas? Ideas please. Bucks & Ideas? Both please.
P.P.S. Without trust, where would we be?

Matt was kind of pretty smart for selling out his idea at that price. Perhaps he gets a reward for that. if not he would ended having his idea stolen by someone who has a personal in his project. But i believe he could have redefined the whole project and gotten a billion dollar from it
I got the product, haven't had a chance to really deal with it yet ( . . . ) but got the Internet Dirt Newsletter in the mail about a week ago. That thing is a total value. Mr. Bacak's information is perfectly laid out in such a way that makes it easy to take action. Highly recommended.
