The Two Men Who Laughed at the Recession (Part 1)
By: Mark Joyner

Both of these men have lived through 5 severe economic recessions and prospered lavishly throughout each.
While others were scrimping and saving these two men were living lavish champagne and caviar lifestyles in the world's most exotic locations.
How did this happen?
Over the next several posts in this series, I will not only tell you their stories but also how you can duplicate their success using some very simple techniques.
(Note that I said "simple" - not "easy" - these men did not get a lion's reward by doing lamb's work.)
Now look, the recession is no laughing matter so I don't mean to take this lightly. When I say these two men (both dear friends of mine - and together they have generated billions and billions in sales) laughed at the recession, I don't mean that they are laughing at you if you're going through tough times.
If you're in a real bind right now, I strongly recommend that you use something like the 7 Day Business Turnaround Kit immediately (it works).
If you're in no real hurry, and you want to learn how these men did billions in sales no matter what the economic tides washed in, then stay tuned to this series.
Hint: they are both trained in the same skill. Can you guess who they are? We have a Simpleology course coming soon based on the teachings of these two men (the next in our "Great Teachers" series). Jot your guess below. We'll select three of the people who give the right answer at random and give them free access to this course. Everyone who gets the right answer will get a prize valued at $97 US. Your answer must be time stamped no later than Thursday 28 August 11:59PM Eastern.

hmm... trained in philosophy maybe?
It looks like we're talking about sales and marketing. My guess is Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer. Might the skill be copywriting?
I would guess they were trained in sales or marketing?
Hope I'm right & get the prize! Thanks for the contest!

Hi Mark,
Being a copywriter myself, of course I am biased - but I think that skill must be - copywriting!
PS: And thanks for your great content and for this opportunity
Amway Co-Founders: Jay Van Andel & Rich DeVos
Looks like Jay and Bill Bartman.
Joe Sugarman is top one...
Ted Nicholas is next...

Five recessions is a pretty long time so one has to be Ted Nicholas. Not sure about the other one. Dan Kennedy has been going for more than thirty years so I'll say him. Both are teachers and wordsmiths or copywriters as they are more commonly known. Confirmed by you saying generated billions in sales, so not necessarily made them for themselves.
I think my other half is wrong. That's Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas. They are both copywriters and salesmen though.
Thanks for the competition
Sue

My guess is copywriting is the skill and the 2 geniuses are Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas.

I'm going with Jay Abraham and Dan Kennedy.
Joe Vitale and Bob Proctor...just a very wild, probably out in left field, guess.
Does Jay Abraham live a lavish life-style? I don't know but he has been around long enough to have prospered through several recessions, so he would be my first pick as one if the "The Two Men Who Laughed at the Recession" ... Donald Trump fits the profile of lavish living so I'm taking a punt on him :)
D'Arcy Mayo
I believe they are Barrack Obama and Larry Sinclair.
John Carlton, Jay Abraham
Gary Halbert and Joe Sugarman
Here's my guess:

Abe Lincoln & George Washington :)
well, how about Warren Buffett and General Michael Aquino. I'm pretty sure they've fared splendidly through everything, each in his own way.
Jay Abraham and Clayton MacPeace
I also believe the two to be Joe Sugerman and Ted Nicholas. I seem to recall that both had a military intellegence background before moving into marketing, (much like someone else dear to our hearts here.)
I think they are Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas.
I say the top guy is Joe Sugarman.. and the bottom guy is Ted N.
I don't who the 2 guys are, but my proposal on the skill they possessed is:
Building a responsive list of customers.
They then built a strong relationship with that list that would allow them to help their customers during the recessions.
I'm with Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas because of the time frame. My first guess had Dan Kennedy in there.
The skill is copywriting and for sure number 1 is Ted Nicholas (my original mentor), but the second is up for grabs. I'll say Dan Kennedy, but it could easily be Halbert, Sugarman, Abraham(my other early mentor) or Collier.
I would guess Michael Masterson and Jay Abraham. Thanks for the try.
Jay Abraham ,Joseph Sugarman
Just a quess. But they are Jewish right? Amazing people. Jay Abraham has to be one of them but he is a one off.Awesome. Impossible to follow him.;).
Donald Trump and Robert Kiosaki

Hi Mark,
The 2 gentlemen must be Ted Nicholas & Joe Sugarman.
Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas, Thanks for all the animation,
Michael
I think they are Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas.
Fingers crossed.
If they've been around a long time and "have generated billions and billions in sales" - well they didn't do that all for themselves, per the language. yes, I would agree that it would be the pair of Ted Nicholas & Dan Kennedy. They are famous copywriters and sales generators. - And "generated billions and billions".
Mark,
Copywriting is the skill.
Both Ted Nicholas & Joe Sugarman are masters and highly successful at writing persuasive copy.
Plus they're both friend of yours.
Michael

Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas and the skill would be copywriting
I have to say Ted Nicholas and Joe Sugarman. I mean, it could be Mark Joyner and Joe Vitale wearing wigs but I doubt it. No, it's Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas, also known as the billion dollar man. Great lesson too by the way.
Peace and Love
Great idea for a quiz Mark. Now you want us to think too!
Joe Sugarman and Ted Nicholas seems like a good guess?
Sincerely,
