By: Mark Joyner

Next week I will be revealing the only four investments you will ever need to make (in good times and bad).

Everything else absolutely pails in comparison to these four. They are that important.

Can you guess what they are?

If you think you can - please post your guess using the comments form below ...

The first person to get it right will get a free lifetime membership in a new club I've been forming in secret.

We'll choose 5 of the responses at random to get a FREE 1 year membership, so please take a wild guess even if you think you are way off :-)

The Magic 4 Investments!
-Focussing intentions
-Time - tracking visions
-Personal Energy renewal
-Team Building

Are the 4 things you should invest in:
1) Direct Response Marketing
2) Personal Developement(build on your expertise)
3) Systems to run your business
4) Your clients (build your client list and give them more of what they want)

My first guess would be to invest in yourself. Whether that means your health or your mental/intellectual wealth. To me those are the most important things to invest in.

I think the four investments would be:
Desire;
Faith;
Focus;
Consistency;
Most likely not the answer but those 4 seem to work in most endeavors for me, will love to learn more from you.

Reaching more people is important and I appreciate having a mentor program like Simpleology available.

Any and all help is most appreciated.

the 4 investments we need to make in: 1) right relationship to spirit 2) right relationship to self (what do i want) 3) right relationship to our loved ones (family, closest/intimate friends ) 4) right relationship to our community (being a responsible citizen locally and then spreading our area/ arena of active concern out as circumstance and situations allow and demand)

Posted by: david crotty | October 22, 2008 12:39 AM

In life most people become focused on money and prestige. I believe the only 4 investments that everyone should make is in personal development, invest time and self in your family, invest in finding a balance in your own life and an investment in keeping up to date on the financial world and what is developing in your line of interest or work by learning from others who are successful.

Mark

Maybe:
Communication
Knowledge
Happiness
Health
Thank you

I believe to invest in education for ourselves and to interactively teach it to others helps communities to grow the most. Investing in positive co-creative relationships friendships and divine love with self, family, friends is another key. Investing in our health physical, mental spiritual bodies would enhance and balance the planet and universe. To invest in communication that creates a win win situation for all is a world we must strive for and not create any more WAR.

1. Marketing (your life may depend on it)
2. Yourself (your mindset and training are crucial)
3. Your Customers (relationship building in general, because where would you be without them?)
4. Planning (work on your business as well as in it)

All of these things are directly under your control, and therefore your ability to influence the outcome is stronger.

1-Knowledge/Learning
2-Time
3-Spiritual/Moral/Ethical Growth
4-Help Others free gratis with knowledge given to you

As an old soldier (who spent lots of time in the field), I also found that a good pocket knife is an indispensible investment. But I don't think that's what you're looking for here. lol

Your own physical /mental health
Your own personal development / education
Your own spirituality / ethicality
Your own mindset to develop the above 3 investments

1. health of body and mind
2. Connection & Attunement w/Higher Self and intuition
3. reclaiming power & clarity in the present, by finding freedom from past
4. human connections - w/family, friends, society

I will like to invest on---
1) on my childern as per thier wish.
2) on my near and dear ones for whom I think he/she is in need.
3) on me to keep my self fit and fine.
4) In my country's long investment policies where money is utilised for the benifit of people and even it remains my money to use.

1. Health (physical & emotional well being)
2. Education
3. Character (build good habits)
4. Relationship (family/friends/networking)

And actually I want to add #5 is spiritual well being. I don't want to preach here but ...what's the use of gaining the whole world but losing your soul... (actually this should be #1?).

Good luck, everyone!

My guess:

1. Health and Mindset
2. Copywriting/Marketing
3. Tracking
4. Systems

Health is a non-negotiable foundation. Without good health everything else suffers. And if your head aint right then you're going to struggle to get out of the starting gates.

Second to that I believe that freedom comes before love (I do acknowledge in many cases you need to love in order to be free).

And in order to create your freedom, you need to be able to sell and market effectively i.e. copywriting/marketing skills. Then you need to know if it's working i.e. tracking and lastly you need to be able to take yourself out of the equation i.e. systems that continue to run and generate income without you in the picture.

I was tempted to put relationships down as one of the points but the relationships will come anyway once the ball is rolling.

Your Mind
Your Body
Your Soul
Your Spirit

Invest in these and everything else will follow

1.Personal Development
2.Spiritual Development
3.Time
4.Paying it forward - helping others

I think the number one literal investment is:
Healthcare.
We'll always need it, regardless of the economy.
Of course, I agree, though, with all the suggestions, such as: yourself, your education, etc.
Without those, you really don't have very much...

1) Your education
2) A business
3) Your recreation
4) Your retirement

Posted by: Ronald | October 22, 2008 4:12 AM

Hey Mark,
My understanding in my life to this point, at least -

1. The development of self confidence

2. The development and clarity of positive mental images of desired targets.

3. Persistence. Willingness to push through fear and failure and flip it - the coin they share with drive, passion, and commitment - on its head. No matter how many times it tries to flip back.

4. Appreciation. Without love and joy, personal or material success alone are for naught. Appreciation for oneself, his physical world, his physical being, his family, his friends, his opportunities that lay ahead.

Let the adventure begin again each day :)

You should always invest in:
1. Your health (physical, emotional, spiritual)
2. Your relationship (family/friends)
3. Your character (self dicipline)
4. Your education

This is subjective as you could have 'mind' as one or 10 items.

So, here are my 4:

1 - Physical Health (look after your temple)

2 - Mental faculties (continuous education in self-development)

3 - Spiritual faculties (understanding that you are not your ego)

4 - Enlightenment (getting out of your own way to let what's left exist in peace)

Keep up your amazing work Mark.

The 1st and most important investment a person should make is in developement of character.
The second is education
Third is family.

The only thing you need to invest in is yourself. If one is truly commited to themselves they will achieve success everywhere.

Yourself, Family, Friends and Your Beliefs.

Posted by: Charles Caliendo | October 22, 2008 4:58 AM

The four investment - it's a trick question, since you don't define "investments" at all.

It's possible to see investments only in terms of money, or more broadly as time, energy, and money.

Also, you can limit the payoff to either just money or more broadly something like happiness, or wealth, or general wellbeing.

Thus, there are many ways to answer. I'll give a "money answer" and "another answer".

Money-money-money:
1) Leads (ie. traffic, and your way of getting it - even SEO craves for time, energy & money)
2) Conversion (ie. sales letter - moving people from prospects to customers)
3) Product (ie. what you sell - either your own or affiliate stuff)
4) Billing system (ie. Means to collect funds from prospects)

Another answer:
1) Submitting to the will of the Father (Moral choice)
2) Following your conscience (heart's voice)
3) Helping thy neighbour
4) Trusting His ways

I hope this helps

The four investments are

Compassion
Vision
Health
Faith

God
Love
Infinite
Others

Family

My 4:

Your dream.
Your health.
Your education.
Your plan.

Actually I'd suggest that there is only ONE investment - you need to invest yourself completely into the things that you truly believe in. Do that and you are already a success.

1. The universe
2. Your BESTLIFE
3. Birth
4. Marriage

1) Health
2) Education

1) Health (Physical & Emotional): As long as we have a working head and 4 strong limbs, anything is possible. Some greats like Stephen Hawking make do even without the limbs :)

2)Self: Be constantly learning, evolving to the changing world around us, lest we become irrelevant dinosaurs.

3)Relationships: No man is an island. When the whole world will turn its back on you, when no one will give you the time of the day, it's your family and loved ones who will help you be the rising Phoenix from ashes.

4)Financial security: What can I say, money does buy happiness:) The leading global magazine of the intellectuals, Economist, says that health followed by wealth are the leading indicators of happiness. According to Forbes happiness rankings, small European countries are the happiest. Canada is also a top 10 happy nation. USA, as one would expect is not even in the running.

My guesses:

1 - Education. 'The learning shall inherit the earth whilst the learned shall be very well equipped for a world that no longer exists.' Sadly can't remember who I'm quoting there.

2 - Your business; systems and marketing. Without them you don't have a growing business.

3 - Your home / property. People will always need a place to live and property prices will always recover.

4 - Your relationships/support/networks, business and personal. Pretty lonely out there otherwise and if your network is your net worth then better make sure it's a good one.

After just having read the amazing simpleology book I guess I am looking at the things that show real world results. Cheers all, Johnny B.

4 Crucial Investments:

1. Real Estate-everyone needs their own space to start out. In fact, this is my biggest mistake, not buying a home after college. It's a can't lose move. Later, concentrate on buying the worst properties in the best areas.
2. Tax free retirement account. (IRA, 401k, etc.)
Start this early, and you won't have a worry in 40-50 years.
3. Health Insurance. Get high deductible health insurance, in case of a health disaster. Check out HSA accounts.
4. Stock index funds. Pick index funds for stock investing, whether foreign or domestic markets, depending on world trends at the time.

1.- Create the Irresistible offer
2.- Present it to a thirsty crowd
3.- Sell them second glass
4.- Keep the door open

There is an expert investor with high ROI and low risk in any given field: real estate, stock options, seo, dating, golf, etc. Great Investors use leveraged resources of time, energy and money of other people to their advantege. However, the goals, skills and passion for one human could be completely different from other souls.

So, my 4 best investments are:
1. Investment of Money: devolop your own business where your passion is and use other people resources to expand possibilities
2. Investment of Time: develop team of people and systems to levearge your own time.
3. Investment of Energy: excercise a lot, engage in activities that you enjoy (for instance, playing and laughing with children gives me plenty of youthfullness and renewal).
4. Above all invest in yourself, expanding your mind with continual education (general knowledge and specific knowledge), your own personality (virtues, habits, communication), your mindset, your relationships (family, friends, collegues), learn to increase your time management, cultivate and expand your passions, hobbies and talents, your Health, your Soul and spiritual being, learn how to reinvest your savings and profits with passive instruments, etc.

There is no such four investments you ever need for happyness, luck money etc... in philosophy. Because the definition of happinessis not of that order:

"Happiness is nothing else than the application of virtues in prosperity."

These virtues have always been the same: Justice, Courage, Temperance, Wisdom (Prudence, Cautioness).

Prosperity is healt, abondance (money) and the USAGE of these two gods.

Nobody will ever find better definition. It is from Pythagorus...

What is within is without and therefore, the four important investments to make, in good times and in bad are:-

1. your mind (focused attention creates great energy and power in manifesting your intentions).

2. your body (life is breath and therefore health and wellbeing is at the top of the list).

3. your spirit (your heart, your inner/true self, what makes you tick/your passion).

4. patience (trust and have faith that what you are going through is for your highest good and whether good or bad there is always a lesson to help you move forward - invest patience).

Interesting comments, with an overwhelming general agreement about priorities for a successful life, which I would not dispute. However, my thinking about the only 4 investments is more specific - investment being something you pay for in order to produce a greater return.

  • Intellectual capital - knowledge that can be made valuable to others - yours or other people's

  • Copywriting skill - ability to create curiosity, belief, action

  • Business systems - infrastructure to communicate, transfer your knowledge, accept payment

  • Lists - contact data for people you determine will value your knowledge

With those 4 pieces in place you can do any of the other things anyone has listed, in as secure a position as it is possible to attain in this life. I have no idea if this is Mark' s line of thinking, but it is certainly what I'm working on for now.
Remembering that we make a lot of our own luck - good luck to all!

Answering this question depends on whether you are speaking of investing *anything*, or what to invest your money in; I shall assume the former.

1. (Quality) Survival - this includes food, clothing, shelter, proper sleep, health & fitness.

2. Education - school, self-improvement, research, educating others.

3. Social - friends, family, business relationships, etc.

4. Your inner self - call it spiritual, emotional, what have you. This could fall under education/self-improvement but it's a slightly more pressing issue than merely development of the mind.

It is good to see that so many people have put investing in themselves as the main priority.

This is critical to living your desired life.

The four as I see it:

1. Health (physical, mental and spiritual)- without your health nothing else will matter.

2. Relationships (self, sig nif other, family, friends, community and the universe)- Have everything else but with no one to share it with and you have nothing.

3. Contribution (career, purpose, passion, volunteer)- This is a basic human need and it is also how we provide for the basics and desires in our life. However you decide to contribute, it will serve you well.

4. Adventure (This is the lifestyle you desire to live (family, house, car, clothes, vacations, schools, toys and the list goes on))- I mean you want to enjoy the ride!

Your family -

Your own business

Your spirituality and your impact on the world

2. Invest in Your Belief
3. Invest in Your Connections
4. Invest in Your Actions

1- Copywriting
2- Copywriting
3- Copywriting
4- COPYWRITING !!!

Once I have super duper control and deep knowledge of writing copy, then everything else will be a zinch to conquer.

Because since I will be able to write copy that will cause people to whip out their wallets, I will thus be spending more time at home with my kids and family.

I will be able to afford whatever I need, so I won't depend on a "job" (thus happiness will shoot up, and stress will go wayyy down).

I'll be able to help others become great in whatever they want to do, which will give me satisfaction, thus my soul will be fed and warm...

Man, what else would you want???

My four are:

(1) My physical, mental and spiritual health
(2) My relationships
(3) My continuing education
(4) My will to succeed and to never give up

What I have TO invest are my time and money. What I would most invest my time in is a) gaining knowledge and b) sharing knowledge. What I would then invest my money in is c) research (so I know what knowledge will serve me best to meet "b") and d) marketing (to reach the people interested in "b"). Regards, Lori

I think Arie had the 'right' answer... (Self, Energy, Time, Money)

but here's my take on it...

1) Invest in Yourself (that means Your Own Physical, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual Wellbeing, Energy, & Balance.)

2) Invest in Your Passion & Purpose
and this may just take care of the finances and the rest.

3) Invest in Family, Friends, Company, & Good Connections.

4) Invest in always learning, growing, improving, & evolving.

The only four investments you will ever need to make are:

Invest in your dreams.

Invest in your desire and willpower for your dreams.

Invest in focusing your attention and actions on your dreams.

Invest in emotionally detaching yourself from your dreams(and their specific results) and being open to uncertainty and all oportunities that will arise from that.

"Invest - to put (money) to use, by purchase or expenditure, in something offering potential profitable returns - dictionary.com"

I suggest the four primary investments are:

1. Mentors (iincludes educational refreshening on all levels)
2. Business models
3. Business tools (stock and the means with which to sell it, i.e. website and info products, or office and coaching couch, or a truffle shop and lots of truffles).
4. Networking (including JVs, advertising, social groups and lead generation).

I know it doesn't sound very humanistic or esoteric but money is only a reflection of the energy we put into something. When we do what we love to do to earn money, then we are indeed serving humanity and through that we are also serving ourselves. I have the humane part down. I've been a spiritual counselor for almost 30 years. I am now exploring the notion that spirit and money do indeed mix.

Much respect.

1-Invest in a top notch mentor and educate yourself about the market and the latest trends and profitable businesses .
2-Invest in creating your own great product to sell, that gives true value to people.
3-Invest in bringing all the exposure and traffic to your product.
4-Invest in a outsourcing company that will totally automate your business for you 24/7 365 days.

A, B, C & D

Where A = 1st investment to be revealed by Mark

Where B = 2nd investment to be revealed by Mr. Joyner

Where C = 3rd investment to be revealed by MJ, and

Where D = 4th investment to be revealed by Joyner

If nothing else, this answer is mathematically "correct" though practically "useless" at present.

Invest in four solid pillars for abalanced life.Money is not everything, but it is required. After all we cannot take money or anything material with us when we passover. So my recommendations are,
1.time to learn from your mistakes.
2.time to say to all you love that you do love them.
3.time to think not what others can do for you,but what you can do for others.
4.time to forget the past and look for a bright future.
and so, i believe that when a person starts to think outside himself he will always see the light at the end of a dark tunnel whatever his circumstances.

Four money investments:
1. House (to run phone line to)
2. Computer, obviously
3. Good Internet Connection
4. Internet Business
(although then you might consider diversification...)

Four time investments, because let's face it, that's even more scarce
1. Learning
2. Applying what you've learnt
3. Family & Friends; nurturing the ones you have and growing the circle to find new ones
4. R&R time, aka sharpening the saw

Four energy investments
1. Developing your unique focus & perspective
2. Transmuting dreams into goals
3. Pursuing said goals with commitment & persistence
4. Resisting the tide of 'mob mentality' and going against the flow - this is probably the hardest initially but the biggest payoff long term!

CrystalsQuest

Based on my assumption that these 4 investments refer to business survival, my list is:

1) INVEST IN YOURSELF: Knowledge and skills development by various methods, including mentorship. Top of these skills is copywriting, so as to be able to effectively communicate product features as benefits to prospects, based on their innermost desires.

2) INVEST IN YOUR NICHE MARKET: Market research to acquire and maintain niche market intelligence in order to keep "your finger on the pulse".

3) INVEST IN YOUR PRODUCTS: Developing or sourcing products that meet the needs of the niche market, as determined by market research.

4) INVEST IN YOUR PROSPECTS: Acquiring and educating prospects before selling them your products. Email/ autoresponders are the most important component of doing this efficiently and effectively on a mass scale.

I can't wait to find out the correct answer!

Posted by: Brian | October 23, 2008 2:21 PM

Invest in yourself (body, mind and soul), so that you are vibrantly healthy, and you know yourself, and you are filled with love .

Then you will be free to: invest in your family, those from whom you have been given life (your parents and ancestors), who stand behind you and support you on your journey, and those who will continue on your legacy, whom you stand behind and support on their journey.

Invest in your friends and enemies.....being in service to humanity, since we are all brothers and sisters.

Invest in Mother Earth, since without her, we would not be here to begin with, as she provides us with all we need.....being in service to Mother Earth and all of her inhabitants and aspects of her.

3) How do I make sure to make a difference for my loved ones and the persons I deeply care about ?

4) How do I find and maintain the values I cherish (freedom, integrity) in a way that's not only good to myself but also for the people I love and respect ?

Four Cornerstones of Essential Investing....

Relationships

Invest in...

oneself
** Invest in oneself-nurture your well-being, dreams and Spirit-when we keep this alive and well-we are truly alive in the world and fully able to give and receive Love (self/loved ones/global).

those we Love
** Invest in family/friends-in their well-being, dreams and Spirit-there is nothing like the smile on your loved one's face when they reach a long-term, sought-after goal. ---> :))

the globe, our home and it's people.
** Invest in the global community - help to create the same standards you want to live by in areas of the world where this is non-existent/rudimentary - help to bring better conditions about for others. It's nice to turn our taps on for a glass of water but far too many villages do not have this luxury. So many die from tainted, unsafe drinking water each year.

in/within the system
** Invest in systems to provide cashflow/exchange of services to fund all of the above, while simultaneously, providing an excellent quality service or product that people want/need.

Blessings to all!
Nancy

-thank you Mark & Team!

I think that everyone gave meaningful answers thus far...I would have to sum up the 4 most essential investments you ever need as:

1. Spiritual self (love your neighbor as yourself; know thyself; learn to let go of ego and do things from the place of your higher self; Love yourself, your family, friends, neighbors, universal love, working towards oneness in all of your actions)
2. Work (as an expression of your passion in life, which may necessitate all of the self-development options already mentioned)
3. Charity and Kindness(in every and any form)
4. Health
