Have you ever wondered why some people appear to be really good listeners? They take the time to really hear you, make you feel like you are the most important person in the world to them and you come away feeling valued and understood. It is a wonderful skill and gift to have, to really listen to another person. Over the next eight days, I am going to walk you through the main steps in developing your listening skills. While this isn’t intended to be a counseling or therapy course, there are some simple things you can do to really improve the way you listen and attend to others. This will help you in all relationships in your life, family, friends and those you work and spend time with. Most of the exercises are simple things you can introduce each day, however listening is a skill that we can always improve upon. So join me as we learn the art of listening.
