How to Get Thunderous Applause Every Time You Speak (Even If You’re Terrified)

My dear friend (and legendary multi-billion-dollar copywriter), Ted Nicholas once wrote the following headline for one of his most successful ads:

How to Get Enthusiastic Applause
– Even a Standing Ovation –
Every Time You Speak

Confession:  I never read that book.

And sadly, it’s now out of print.  (I wish it weren’t.  Pretty much anything Ted writes is pure gold.)

Now …

Pay very close attention to what I’m about to tell you …

You may be tempted to stop reading right here.

Perhaps you are terrified of public speaking.

Before I tell you how to overcome this fear, know this:  you are in good company.

Liam Neeson, on finding out he lost the Oscar for Best Actor to Tom Hanks, said he felt “10% disappointment, 90% relief.”   Imagine.  A guy who makes a living by speaking in front of the camera is terrified by the thought of giving a public speech.

When I was a young man, I was no different.  I remember my hands trembling uncontrollably the first time I had to speak in front of a group of US Army Officers.  (Today I can speak in front of 5,000 people with zero notice … zero preparation … and still get a standing ovation almost every time.  How?  Read on …)

Heck, even Gandhi himself – one of the greatest orators of all time – admitted speaking terrified him so deeply his vision would blur.

Now …

… is it actually worth taking a bit of time to
learn to become a good speaker?

Well, let’s put it this way.  When Warren Buffett was 21 he realized he had two choices:  face his fear of public speaking head on or never reach his potential.

So … he enrolled in a Dale Carnegie course.  Did it make a difference?

In his own words …

“If I hadn’t had done that, my whole life would have been different. So, in my office, you will not see the degree I got from the University of Nebraska, you’ll not see the master’s degree I got from Columbia University, but you’ll see the little award certificate I got from the Dale Carnegie course.”

The contents of that course are in the classic Dale Carnegie book The Quick and Easy Way to Effective Speaking which we have conveniently summarized for you below.

That book is 1/2 of what got me to where I am as a public speaker.  It changed the course of my life as well.  But, again, this is only half of what got me to the point where I can speak impromptu in front of an audience of any size with zero fear.

The other half I will reveal to you in the email I send out with your download link for …

P.S. IMPORTANT:  In case you missed it … in the email where we send you the FREE download link to this Simpleology Summary, I will include the 2nd half of my personal public speaking secret.  There is a very specific, but very easy to learn, exercise I perform every time I speak.  It instantly …

  • eliminates all of my fear (and transmutes it to energy I use to electrify an audience)
  • gives me the unshakeable confidence of an MMA champ about to square off with a mouse
  • allows me to DOMINATE every single time (even if I “totally blow it”)
