Experimental New Feature #2: Download Books into Subconscious Memory

One of the more useful things to come out of formal psychology is the Hierarchy of Competence.

Let’s look at this another way to make it clear …

  • Phase 1 – Unconscious Incompetence:  you don’t know that you don’t know
  • Phase 2 – Conscious Incompetence:  well at least you know now …
  • Phase 3 – Conscious Competence:  you know it, but recall takes effort
  • Phase 4 – Unconscious Competence: you know it like you know water is wet

The traditional wisdom states that there is only one way to reach the top of the hierarchy:  countless repetitions.

When we’re talking about hard skills, this is quite true.  Maybe some day we’ll learn how to shorten that process, but for now (perfect) “practice practice practice” (to make perfect) is the only way.

When it comes to mastery of information, on the other hand … There are some spooky things you can do to speed up the process.

For example, in the 1970s George Lozanov discovered that students can more rapidly master languages if they incorporate passive listening accompanied by special Baroque music tracks.

Some believe these effects are attributable to the brain entering an alpha wave state.  Indeed, the correlation between relaxation and learning has been verified and reproduced in many different contexts.

Now this is where it gets even more interesting.  Dr. Gerald Oster revealed in a 1973 issue of Scientific American that specific brainwave states could be induced with various combinations of sounds.  We asked … can these technologies be combined in a way that will allow passive mastery of entire books?

After experimenting with this a bit and perfecting the right combinations, we believe the answer is a resounding yes.  But we need to roll this out to the public to see if the casual user is able to reproduce our results.

Enter the Simpleology Passive Mastery™ series.  Each entry will include …

  • the original book in PDF
  • a superb audio recording of the book in raw form (for the car … the shower … wherever it’s unsafe to enter an altered state of consciousness)
  • 4 mind-altering variations of the audiobook that take advantage of various scientifically proven deep-learning effects

IMPORTANT:  the mind-altering recordings must not be used while driving, showering, or any time your full awareness is needed for the outside world.  They will put you in a pronounced altered state of consciousness.

But … when you listen to these books in this state, your learning is deepened radically.  We estimate one listen is equal to around 10 listens to a normal audiobook.  The best part is, all you have to do is …

Step 1.  Put on headphones.

Step 2.  Relax and enjoy the book.  (That’s it.  Focus on the words and let our technology do the rest.)

And again … the first one is free!  With a catch.  All you have to do is promise to fill out a short two minute survey three days after you download it.  Deal?

P.S. The Magic Story is one of the most important books you will ever read.  The legend behind it goes like this:  no one can read it and fail to have their life changed.  I have to agree.  It flips a little switch in your head that changes everything.  But I disagree with the author on one thing:  the change isn’t permanent.  It needs to be reinforced at the subconscious level to make it really stick.  That’s where Simpleology Passive Mastery™ technology come in …

thomasheadrapson Yikes, how could we forget that :-)  Here’s version 1.0 of the instructions.  Please let me know if this makes sense.  I’ll revise this until it’s crystal clear.
    Instructions

    1.  Read the PDF file at least once (at your leisure).
    2.  Listen to the raw audio recording at times when it is unsafe to be in an altered state of consciousness (in your car, in the shower, while doing chores, etc).
    3.  Listen to the Passive Mastery audios with stereo headphones at a time when you can totally relax and focus on the words.  Just focus on the words and let the technology do the rest.  Experiment with the different versions to see which is most relaxing for you.  Listen to your favorite as many times as you like … listen to each version once … it’s totally up to you.  What matters is that you are in the most relaxed (yet paradoxically attentive) state possible.  Again, focus completely on the words and ignore the background sounds.
